Listen; Anyone who did not believe in Wrights sermons would have left that church, but Obama stayed there for 20 years and went every Sunday. That鈥檚 over 500 times.





Only now that he is running for the office of President, has he said anything against Wright.





Despite the conspiracy theory, Wright has said many bad things about America, and I think Obama agrees.

Americans gave smallpox and measles to Indians and wiped out most of them.


Blacks were given syphilis in some kind of experiment.





What happened many years ago is water under the bridge. Many undesirable things happened in the past such as human sacrifices, but you can't blame the descendants of these people for their ancestors' crimes.

I have woken up. I left the Democratic party in the early 90's.
I watched the speech and read the transcripts and he was saying God Damn America for what they did to the Native Americans and to the African Americans. For the treatment of other people all for the benefit of the majority in America. If we are honest, we have been pretty crappy to other nations to get what we wanted. We have and are stepping on a lot of people. We have really screwed the African Americans over and we continue to do it. They get paid less for the same jobs. We don't approve their home loans, and they go to crappier schools.





Watch the tape. Honestly I think Rev. Wright was right. If you haven't listened with an open mind to the whole tape you shouldn't comment.





I'm sure he preached about other things and this was just a once in a while thing. He has spoken all over the U.S. and at many universities, if he were a racist, I don't think he would be so popular.
Obama may have joined only to utilize the contact as part of his organization plan when utilizing churches. Look up the synod that United Church of Christ is and see what it believes and it's mission statement. There are UCC churches here and they do not preach that way. I am not saying all agree with the synod. Most belong to the church they grew up with and what happens when the synod changes, is that the congregation stays. Some do not attend much. They just support the cost for the building on holidays etc.
I assume he was referring to the Tuskegee experiment....just with the wrong disease. Either way, there is no denying that our government has done some crappy things to numerous minorities in our past....I am simply hoping that we will move into a new direction in the future.
This same government wrote legislation for ';forty acres and a mule';. Not that anyone would ever expect it, but it was written. I am so NOT mad at Rev. Wright. Who knows what the government is secretly doing. I would not be surprised, either.

Some of the things Wright said I dont agree with. As a black woman , I do know he had some valid points. Bad timing, but he isnt totally wrong. I guess the truth hurts, huh?
