What does Wright know about slavery anyway?
Is he out there working for minumum wage today?
Does he know some illegal aliens who are being treated like slaves?
What's his complaint about slavery?Does America really need some black ';preacher'; on TV ranting about slavery?
this is just America's institutionalised racism against whites being shoved in their faceDoes America really need some black ';preacher'; on TV ranting about slavery?
';Some Black preacher';? Wright is an established doctor, minister, and a military veteran. You owe more respect than that to him. Wright is very bright and knows all there is to know about slavery and how it still exists today in the minds of many racist people.
Who cares if he is or isn't? That's what makes this country so great, you have the freedom to speak your mind about social situations. I stopped paying attention to the race quite a while ago myself because it got turned into nothing better than mud slinging and I think that's pretty counter-productive to boosting voter moral in a corrupt system.
Yes we do. Why preacher in quotes? He is indeed a preacher. Do you understand that the US economic prosperity was built with free slave labor? Do you understand that Jim Crow voting laws are STILL on the books in many states? Ranting? Wow...I guess you're right...racism has nothing to do with blacks being imprisoned at a much higher rate than whites, that they face the death penalty at much higher rates for the same crimes, that they face racism every single day. What America doesn't need is people ranting about how slavery has no impact today.
And this is how there is going to be solutions with obama IF he is elected president? These will be the first things on the agenda in the state of the union address about how to solve the slavery problem. Sounds to me like there are going to be more problems than we can ever have imagined, especially in Congress.
He has a right to defend himself.
He has spent 30 years working with the poor and disenfranchised.
I may not agree with what he says, or the way he says it, but it is his call to make. We don't have to pay attention to him. If it weren't for the press giving him airtime 24/7, this would have all blown over.
Yes America does need people like Wright.
The fact that it upsets you so much proves it.
Maybe if you actually listened to some of his sermons in full, not just the soundbites you see on TV, you'd understand what he was saying, whether you agree with him or not.
No I don't think he was ever a slave. Neither am I a slaveholder. Nor was my Father. Nor was his Father. Nor was his Father. Nor was his Father. Geez America how long do we have to blame the white man for every ones problems? I have alot of problems and I am a white man. Who do I blame?
America needs to learn how to prioritize. Do we focus on the war, healthcare, the economy, rising oil prices, or do we focus on a preacher?
He is a rich black man in America, I'd say that he has done very well here in this country that he dislikes so much. All this stuff is not about the black church, it is about wright as a man.
I have listened to him and I have trouble with what he says. Maybe it is because I just don't understand the culture. I am open to that. I will keep listening.
He can't find any to serve him in his multi-million dollar mansion nestled in a gated community filled with blue eyed white devils
No.
Not anymore than we need Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell blaming 9/11 on homosexuals.
90% of black births are out-of-wedlock and 1 in 3 black
teens are in trouble with the law,
Now mother ****** these are real problems,
Yes. This country occasionally needs to be reminded that the scars of slavery still exist and that racism still exist.
Wright grew his congregation from 80 to 8,000 so I'm sure he knows a thing or two about helping the poor and disenfranchised help themselves.
What have you done?
America needs a President who can solve the sagging US economy and one who can make peace in this world.
yes. He has a right to TALK all he wants. You don't have to listen!
Rev Wright in nothing more than a M.L. King wannabe.
He's not even close, and comes off as a complete wacko,
which he is.
Does American really need a white preacher ranting about gays?
Wright is just stirring up racist support for himself.
No country needs its.
