I seem to have found that today. Woke up at 7, tried working out what to do but wasn't feeling too happy so I slept till about 9ish. Thought 'Oh, I'll make it for my 11:00 lecture'and went back to sleep till about just before 11and thought I may as well go to my 12:00 lecture.. but went to sleep till about 20 past 1! By which time it wouldn't have been worth going (Even though it's a beastly one that goes on fro 2 hours).
So I just lay in bed generally feeling 'gah/meh/blah/whatever else you'd call it'.
The fire alarm at my halls went off twice. Once at 1:45 (I'd not long gone to bed) and then once agian for a few seconds aobut 5 minutes later.
I screamed the second time the alarm went off. In the past 5 days, we've had 2 days without water at all, and 2 nights where the fire alarm has gone off twice. I was NEVER scared of fire alarms before Saturday night, when it went off in the middle of the night the first time.Is it true that you can be just as cranky from too much sleep as too little? Also a rant, so I apologise?
Well, clearly, even though you were in bed for a long time, you weren't getting quality sleep. A bad night's sleep can make anyone cranky. Stay in this weekend and try to catch up on some sleep. If you really do not feel fully rested no matter how much sleep you get, you could be sick or you may have mild depression. Make an appointment at the health center on campus, if everything checks out fine, you should make an appointment at the counseling center.
Best of luck!Is it true that you can be just as cranky from too much sleep as too little? Also a rant, so I apologise?
i get grumpy if i have to much sleep and end up feeling awful, but in your case what you will probably fined is because you were startled by the fire alarm when you go to sleep subconsciously you are waiting for it to go off again so you are not going into a deep sleep and working through things so you are not really getting a good nights sleep, this alone will make you feel tired and grumpy, try and relax before you go to bed hopefully the fire alarm will be fixed soon so you can get that much needed good nights sleep
Well, you didn't get quality sleep, did you? If you keep waking up, for however short a period, your body doesn't get a chance to run through it's sleep phases, and it's the REM stage that's the most important when it comes to feeling rested. So I would suggest that you need a decent night's sleep as you're tired - even though you basically stayed in bed for most of the day. On a separate note, why do the alarms keep going off? And what's with the water? You need to have a word with the warden of your halls, and failing that, the university. You can't study effectively under these circumstances.
maybe you just need extra sleep today or for the next few days. other things are probably making you crabby and tired. PMS? Just don't let it linger.
