That's the purpose of Al Gore rants. Same with James Hansen rants. They can't dispute his science (except by misrepresenting it) so instead they attack him personally.Are Al Gore rants anything more than just a diversion?
As if on cue, deniers have attacked Hansen in several questions today. How ironic.

Yes, obviously. the truth about global warming has nothing to do with whatever Al Gore says or does





An easy way to spot an irrelevant rant by the anti-science people is if it mentions Al Gore, Jim Hansen, Mann's ';hockey stick';, current weather, or any reference to other planets. Those are all misinformation tactics by lying deniers. They use this strategy to confuse uninformed people about global warming.





EDIT: Just to clarify John Terry, it's not them I'm throwing under the bus, it's people like you. Anti-scientists like yourself adopt figureheads to attack, rather than refuting the science, because you either don't know enough about the science or there is no justification for refuting it. It's much easier for you to say it's been so cold that your soccer team can't practice, so obviously global warming is false, or that Al Gore flies around creating tons of CO2, so global warming is false, or that it's warming on other planets, so global warming is false, than it is for you to come up with a real argument based on science and logic. What I'm saying is that whenever you or the other anti-science people on here start their question talking about any of those topics, you might as well skip the rest because what you're saying will just be vacuous nonsense. Sorry for the confusion.
Outside the USA Gore is seen for what he is, a mouthpiece for sensationalist elements of the AGW brigade.





His rants mean nothing to us.





And the only reason he gets the publicity he does in the USA is because AGW is a political, not scientific, issue there.





Most deniers don't even look at the evidence, they just don't like Gores politics so deny it's happening.





If it were a politician from the other party then it would be different, the pros would be anti, and vice versa.
His propaganda piece is taught to our children. Some people don't know what pure political propaganda and worthless piece of garbage it is. He is now trying to tax people for breathing. What worse is out there that we are supposed to be distracting from?
