How come i have to pay taxes so ur kids to go to school even though i don't have any....?rant (see details)

so why do i have to pay taxes so ur kids can go to school even though i don't have any?when i do have kids though i'm going to send them to public school as oppose to private school because it'll probably be cheaper to send them to public school then private.if this is okay......

then why is universal healthcare so bad,u and i pay taxes so we all can have healthcare insurance,it'll be cheaper to pay taxes then to buy the insurance privately as it is to send ur kids to public schools.

probably the only valid argument against this is that it will degrade the quality of healthcare but is that really saying much?it would be a good argument if we weren't rank high in the world for infant mortality rates, and if we weren't rank high in the world for preventable deaths from diseases and illenesses that could have been treated,i've read some studies that says as the least 100,000 americans would still be with us in 2008 if they wee living in france,or morroco or oman, wtf oman,i've neverHow come i have to pay taxes so ur kids to go to school even though i don't have any....?rant (see details)
for the same reason you pay taxes for the fire department, police department, and library..... even though your house never caught fire, you haven't been mugged on the street, and you don't read.

All of these are socialized programs that benefit society as whole. Universal healthcare should be included among these as well...because it benefits the whole of the country, and insures everyone has access to healthcare...not just those who can afford it.

btw- Iraqis' and Afghans get universal healthcare paid for by the United States War Fund. -FACT

Contrary to popular belief, America DOES NOT have the best healthcare system in the world.... FRANCE does, CANADA is second. Out of 19 industrialized nations....the US ranked DEAD LAST in quality and timeliness of healthcare services. -FACTHow come i have to pay taxes so ur kids to go to school even though i don't have any....?rant (see details)
Public education is part of the gov't. (And boy does it have it's problems)!

Think of it this way: someday, some working person will be paying your social security.
When you're old and retired, I bet you'll be glad that the people of working age in your country can read, to basic math, and are able to get jobs, because they'll be the ones paying into your social security, taking care of you at your nursing home, and helping you write your will.

The general education of the next generation is pretty important to the country's welfare. Oh, and you're not paying for kids to go to private school unless your state supports school vouchers.
';We're living in a so-CI-ety!!!'; - George Costanza
Well, if kids didn't go to school you would rant about how they are messing your yard, vandalizing things, taking away lowing paying jobs, etc.

Its yours and societies best interests for them to be educated.

UH, as in a government forced insurance program, is different because its forcibly taking away my right to choose insurance or not. I have no issues with ';income'; based premiums for healthcare, and honestly I believe thats how it should be. But the forced coverage on something that is entirely optional is wrong.

Kids do not have the same protections, benefits or opportunities as adults when it comes to life, society and our laws. Thats why we protect them and the govt tries to look for their best interests when children are involved.

Adults are different, they have choices, opportunities and benefits afforded to them and if they choose to go without certain things, then its their choice.

Kids dont have that choice.
You arent paying for my kids to go to school. I have them in private schools. I could not sleep at night if I knew they were getting a public school education in my state.

I get mad too, my taxes are funding public schools that I will never use.

You posted this same rant last night.
I'm sure someone paid taxes for you to go to school that did not have children either.
anyone who makes a decent living in this country gets nailed. The Liberals will say otherwise (as if we're all Warren Buffett), but the truth is we already have socialism, and the more you make the more you pay. Getting ahead is a pipe dream. If you make 150K or 80K your lifestyle is about the same. The government will take half of you 150K, so don't bother.
TRY PAYING TWICE!

ONCE FOR PUBLIC, ONCE FOR PRIVATE.

The only grace is the the better private education, costs 1/2 as much per student, as public.

Get over it.
I don't think your analogy is valid, but I'll poke holes in it anyway.

Good schools, financed by your tax dollars, keep home values up. Even if you don't have children, other people value a good public school system and will pay more for it - so it indirectly benefits you.

Not every public school is good. In Chicago they are firing the ENTIRE staff of several schools and starting over - how would you like your medical staff to be comparable to that?

And while you may be willing to take a drop in medical care, I'm not. I don't want an ob that's ';good enough'; - I want the one who made an emergency decision that saved my daughter's life. I don't want to sacrifice our trauma centers (one of which saved my friend's husband and all 3 of her children after they got hit by a cement truck) so that everyone has easier access to sniffly-nose care.

There are ways to make health care more affordable (not free), but they take some hard decisions and careful planning so we don't lose our excellent care. I've been without medical insurance during a high risk pregnancy, and I paid for my medicine ($17 / dose, 2 doses a day) out of pocket, so I have truly see both sides of this issue.
